Expectations of abandonment;
I’m so sorry that I didn’t leave you first.

You push away those that feel your pull,
chasing after endorphins for those Daddy issues.

"How could I have even trusted you?"
Those words don’t hurt me no more.

I fell in love with an angel,
and it was an angel that left me too.

My Old Room

My old room was
a heaven on Earth,
and that mattress on the floor;
It was an ashtray for our love,
untill the day our love burnt out.
We must have been
too young to know any better;
We acted like some kids.
Who am I kidding?
We were just kids back then,
and we still are.

My old room was bigger;
My love was a trigger.
Thought I had it figured,
but who would have figured
that my old room
truly was heaven on Earth.
