I Do Want You Too

Too Young, Too Mature

You were too young
and too mature for me;
Made me feel uneasy
with all of your love.

You could be a best selling author;
You already are the only poet I read.
To read an anthology
of every single poem
you’re ever written
would be a dream come true.

How can someone so young
be so mature?
What is your secret?
Are you even aware of what you do to me?

Four years into the future,
here I sit today, sipping on this coffee,
trying to read in between the lines
of the poetic fractals of your loving.

Beloved lover,
if you can hear these thoughts, give me a sign
and let me confess my love to you
over a cup of coffee;
A second date that never came to be.

I Do Want You Too

How strange;
After all these years,
you suddenly came into my mind
without an invitation.

I’m not mad about it or anything;
In fact, you are welcome to stay,
but if that is the case,
oh lover of the past, tell me,
what happened to us?

Were all of those poems
you wrote about me?
If so, I write this just to tell you
that I do want you too.
